The VE892 is an HDMI fiber optic extension that exceeds the compression restrictions of traditional HDMI cables. High-definition audio-visual signals can be output over optical fiber over long distances.

The VE892 receives audiovisual data from a local signal source and serializes it for transmission over a single 3.125 Gbps fiber (for resolutions up to 1080p at 60 Hz and 24-bit color depth).

In addition, the VE892 is capable of extending the infrared remote control and transferring RS-232 data (up to 115 kbps) in both directions. This way, it can also connect serious devices, such as touch-sensitive fabrics or barcode readers.
